Broadgate are excited to be partnering with a subprime auto lender in New York to hire for a CFO.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive growth and profitability.
• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy and long-term capital plan.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance management.
• Provide actionable analysis on originations, pricing, credit performance, operating expenses, and profitability.
• Deliver clear financial reporting and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
• Lead all funding, liquidity, and capital markets activities.
• Manage relationships with banks, warehouse lenders, private credit funds, institutional investors, and rating agencies.
• Negotiate and oversee warehouse facilities, credit lines, forward-flow agreements, whole-loan sales, and other funding arrangements.
• Optimize cost of funds, liquidity, and funding diversification while ensuring covenant compliance.
• Partner with Credit and Risk teams to evaluate risk-adjusted returns, pricing, and underwriting strategy.
Accounting & Reporting
• Oversee Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Maintain appropriate controls, policies, and financial governance.
• Manage audits, tax matters, financial service providers, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Build scalable reporting systems and financial infrastructure.
Risk Management & Stakeholder Relations
• Support liquidity, stress-testing, loss forecasting, and capital planning processes.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Credit, and Operations on regulatory and financial risk management.
• Serve as the company's primary financial representative to investors, lenders, auditors, rating agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Team Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing finance organization.
• Recruit, develop, and retain
• Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, integrity, and analytical rigor
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar advanced designation preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Significant experience in: Subprime auto finance Consumer lending Specialty finance Banking Structured finance
• Strong expertise in: Warehouse lending Liquidity management Portfolio economics Financial forecasting and modeling
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct subprime auto lending experience.
• Existing relationships with key warehouse lenders, banks, investors, and capital providers.
• Experience with whole-loan sales and forward-flow programs.
• Track record navigating changing credit and interest-rate environments.
• Experience scaling a specialty finance platform through periods of rapid growth
