A well-established NYC nonprofit is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial operations.
Reporting to the President/CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial operations, lead the Finance team, and serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and grant/regulatory requirements
- Oversee financial management of government contracts and grant-funded revenue
- Manage cash flow and financial sustainability planning
- Lead the annual audit process and serve as primary liaison to external auditors
- Present financial results and recommendations to the Board and Finance Committee
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance Department
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience
- Nonprofit experience required
- Strong background with government contracts, grants, and restricted funding
- Experience managing annual audits and Board-level reporting
