We have an outstanding opportunity for a Business Operations Lead (Renewables Energy Connections) to take the driver’s seat and provide expertise in delivering business support for the Low Voltage distributed energy resources management system (DERMS) to ensure that DERMS enabled customers are supported and that associated operational processes are carried out in compliance with AusNet’s regulatory obligations and customer expectations.

With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role a permanent 12 month fixed-term position and is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Electricity Distribution team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Provide operational support using the DERMS system to ensure that customer expectations and operational obligations, requirements and compliance are undertaken effectively, related to the installation, connection and operations of customer distributed energy resources on the AusNet Electricity Distribution Network
- Working with other AusNet teams to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures that relate to the registration and management of customer devices on the Network via DERMS
- Proactively address issues through to resolution, where customers and customer agents such as installers and aggregators are experiencing delays or problems in finalising device registration and connections via the DERMS systems
- Support our DERMS vendor teams as they seek to prioritise and deploy enhancements to the DERMS systems
- Support the delivery of AusNet’s Distributed Systems Operator (DSO)business operations strategy
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a technology discipline (Engineering, Business Information Systems or similar) is desirable
- Demonstrated and applied experience in external/customer facing operational roles within the energy sector
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of key market drivers, industry players and latest developments within energy markets as related to solar, battery installers desirable
- Effective interpersonal and communications skills with an ability to effectively interact with customers to quickly assess and understand customer needs and concerns and facilitate resolution of blockers and issues
- A working understanding of renewable energy technologies and electricity distribution networks
- A genuinely positive interest in renewable energy and its impact on consumers
