About The Position
As the Head of Business Development & Sales Operations at Energy Exemplar, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing our growth strategy within the rapidly evolving energy software sector. You will be responsible for driving business development initiatives, overseeing the sales operations process, and optimizing our go-to-market approach to meet the demands of energy industry stakeholders. In this role, you will ensure that Energy Exemplar maximizes revenue growth, expands market share, and leads innovation in energy modeling and market simulation software solutions.
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Drive lead generation efforts to identify and qualify new business opportunities within the energy sector.
- Develop and execute strategies to generate high-quality leads and expand Energy Exemplar’s market reach.
- Qualify leads based on business needs, ensuring alignment with product offerings.
Sales Operations & Optimization
- Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM processes to ensure lead-to-deal conversion.
- Streamline and optimize the sales process for better efficiency and higher conversion rates.Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead the business development team, providing guidance and support for lead generation and sales efforts.
- Coach and develop team members to achieve targets and improve lead qualification processes.
Sales Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze lead generation data and sales performance to optimize strategies and improve lead conversion rates.
- Report on key metrics, including lead volume, qualification rates, and sales pipeline health.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with marketing to ensure alignment between lead generation campaigns and sales strategies.
- Partner with sales and product teams to ensure leads are properly nurtured and converted.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Manage the budget for lead generation activities, ensuring cost-effective strategies to generate high-value leads.
- Track ROI for lead generation efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- 5+ years leadership experience in business development, sales operations, or related roles.
- Proven track record in lead generation and qualifying high-quality leads in the energy, technology, or SaaS sectors.
- Experience with enterprise-level sales and B2B environments, especially in complex, technical industries like energy software.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to mentor and guide teams to success.
- Expertise in lead generation, sales pipeline management, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new challenges and market conditions.
