A newly created CFO appointment for a highly successful, private equity-backed, cash-generative multi-site business in the East Midlands — part of a well-regarded international group with a strong performance culture and the financial backing to match its ambitions.
Turning over several hundred million pounds and operating across multiple UK sites, this is a business in good shape — commercially strong, with real momentum and a finance function of considerable scale and complexity. The CFO role has been created to provide the senior commercial and strategic leadership the next phase of growth demands, with full regional accountability and close partnership with the MD and group.
The incoming CFO will take ownership of commercial finance, pricing strategy, cost performance and the quality of data and reporting across the function. There is a meaningful transformation agenda, but this is not a rescue — it is an opportunity to raise the bar in a business that already has strong foundations.
Essential background will include CFO or Finance Director experience inside a business of £300m or more in revenue, operating across multiple sites in manufacturing, industrial, consumer goods or similar. A strong controls and governance grounding is a prerequisite — significant PE-backed or listed company experience is essential — as is a track record of leading large finance teams through change and driving commercial outcomes at scale. Shared services leadership experience is required.
This is a role for a finance leader who has already operated at this level and is motivated by the prospect of genuine ownership — the scope to shape a function and make a lasting mark on a business with the resources and appetite to support it.
