About the Opportunity
My client, a rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP), is seeking a detail-oriented Software License Coordinator to establish and own their software licensing function. This is a newly created role born out of significant growth—a fantastic opportunity to build something from the ground up and make it your own.
This 6-month contract position offers strong potential for extension or conversion to a full-time permanent role for the right candidate who demonstrates value and fit within the organization.
The Challenge
As my client has experienced significant growth, they've identified the need for a dedicated resource to establish and manage their software licensing function. This is an opportunity to build a centralized system for tracking and managing licenses across multiple vendors and stakeholders.
You'll be brought in to create structure and visibility. Your mission is to consolidate software licensing data, implement a tracking system, and establish processes for proactive license management moving forward.
What You'll Do
Data Consolidation & Organization (Primary Focus)
- Gather and consolidate software licensing information from 30-100 vendors across internal systems and client accounts
- Populate and maintain licensing data within a provided framework/database system
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all contract details, renewal dates, pricing structures, and terms
System Implementation & Maintenance
- Work collaboratively to establish or refine the licensing tracking framework
- Create a centralized, accessible system for monitoring all software licenses (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Okta, and many others)
- Develop processes to keep the database current and actionable
Proactive License Management
- Track and flag upcoming renewal dates to prevent missed deadlines
- Identify commission, upsell, and resale opportunities within the client base
- Support the team with accurate licensing data for client conversations and vendor negotiations
Process Ownership
- Own this function end-to-end during the contract period
- Document processes and best practices for sustainability
- Serve as the go-to resource for software licensing questions
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data-focused roles such as:
- RevOps (Revenue Operations)
- Sales/Marketing Operations
- Administrative/Operations Coordinator
- Data Management or Business Operations
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to work with large datasets accurately
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams and gather information from multiple stakeholders
- Self-starter mentality who can work independently to structure ambiguous information
- Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new systems
Nice to Have
- Experience working in an MSP, IT services, or technology environment
- Familiarity with software licensing models (SaaS, subscriptions, volume licensing)
- Background working with platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or other enterprise software
- Experience with CRM or database management tools
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
