Opportunity
We are hiring a hands-on Chief Finance Officer to drive the financial health and strategic growth of the business. This individual will provide strategic direction, ensure robust financial & accounting processes, and support the organization’s goals through expert financial analysis, strategy development, and collaboration with leaders across the organization to execute the strategy. You will also lead M&A activities, including add-on acquisitions and the company sale process. This is an opportunity for a private equity portco veteran with excellent analytical, accounting, and leadership skills to shape an organization by building best practices and achieve a successful exit. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, determined, resilient, and tenacious.
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO as part of the leadership team, providing financial insights and direction to support key business decisions and long-term planning.
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and enterprise value creation.
- Partner with private equity sponsors to align financial performance with investor expectations, ensuring transparency and value delivery.
- Prepare and present board of directors materials outlining health of the business and initiatives to improve key metrics
Accounting, Compliance, and Governance
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Manage external audits, tax compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives in partnership with advisors and legal counsel.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Build and refine sophisticated financial models to evaluate business performance, guide decision-making, and inform strategic initiatives.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market dynamics.
- Provide actionable insights and analysis to optimize gross profit, operating margins, and overall cost efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering recommendations to drive value.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management
- Optimize cash flow and working capital, ensuring the availability of resources to meet operational needs and strategic investments.
- Oversee banking relationships and debt management, including compliance with covenants and financial reporting obligations.
- Evaluate and implement strategies to enhance liquidity and support capital expenditures, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
Mergers, Acquisitions, and Exit Planning
- Lead all financial aspects of M&A transactions, including valuation, due diligence, structuring, and integration planning.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate acquisition opportunities and their alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with private equity sponsors to prepare for and execute a successful company sale process, including exit strategies and potential buyer engagement.
Technology and Systems Optimization
- Leverage financial systems (e.g., NetSuite) to drive process automation, reporting accuracy, and data-driven decision-making.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency.
- Champion best practices in financial systems and reporting to support scalability and transparency as the company grows.
- Manage IT through third party IT vendor.
Leadership and Team Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team capable of scaling with the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and communicator across all levels of the organization, including board members and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Skills Required
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, or similar
● Minimum of 8 years in finance leadership roles, with a proven track record in private equity-backed businesses.
● Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution business highly preferred.
● Extensive experience managing the financial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and sale processes.
● Qualification / Education: CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred
● Advanced financial modeling and analysis capabilities; expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
● Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems required.
● Hard-working, highly detail-oriented, and results-driven with exceptional problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $200,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
