The Toronto Golf Club – Chief Financial Officer
The Toronto Golf Club is one of Canada’s top private clubs, frequently ranked in the top 10. The club has an historic, fully restored 18-hole Harry Colt course, a 9-hole Watson course, an extensive practice facility and world class teaching facilities. It also has an historic property, and a Georgian clubhouse with excellent food, beverage and service. It is a Canadian benchmark course and is the third oldest golf club in North America.
Due to the retirement of the current Chief Financial Officer who has an enviable reputation, the club is looking for a new CFO. This key executive role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer has board financial, accounting, and administrative responsibilities, not limited to but including:
- Financial leadership and hands-on involvement in the day-to-day accounting, finance and administration of the club.
- Oversight of Human Resources, Communication, Membership Services and Information Technology.
- A critical role in supporting department heads and committees in all these functional areas.
- Provides input into the club’s strategy and supports the board when appropriate.
Candidates for this role must have a strategic approach to financial management, an accounting designation and several years in senior roles managing accounting, financial and administrative functions. Experience in a membership based, hospitality, or not-for-profit environment is preferable. The ability to lead and to contribute in a team and progressive but results oriented organization is essential.
