Chief Financial Officer in
Singapore.
Requirements
- Min 5 Years of experience in a fintech organization, of which min 3 years in Major Payment Institutions Singapore.
- Necessary skills, experience, and qualifications to perform the role effectively. This is where the specific financial and regulatory expertise for a payment institution comes into play.
- Financial Services Expertise: Demonstrated experience within the financial services sector, specifically in areas with a strong regulatory component. Experience with payment systems, fintech, or digital payment tokens (DPTs) is highly valued.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A deep and practical understanding of the Payment Services Act (PSA) and the various MAS notices and guidelines that govern the industry. This includes rules on capital adequacy, safeguarding of customer funds,
- Governance and Risk Management: Proven experience in designing and implementing robust corporate governance frameworks, internal controls, and enterprise-wide risk management systems, particularly those related to financial and operational risks.
- Honesty, Integrity, and Reputation: The person must have no history of criminal offences, bankruptcy, or adverse financial conduct. This includes a clean track record in previous employment and business dealings. The person must be in sound financial standing. The person will be checked with the support of HireRight company.

Responsibilities
- Accounting, Financial, and Management Reporting:
- Manage accounting policies and processes according to the local accounting standard in the context of the global structure of ZEN. Oversee the accounting process form end to end for ZEN.COM in Singapore.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for ZEN.COM in Singapore.
- Manage the full reporting cycle, including preparing monthly management accounts and papers for the board of ZEN.COM in Singapore.
- Drive efficiency and automation in financial operational processes, leading change and implementing best practices.
- Manage relationships with accounting and payroll providers, if such are established.
- Design, implement, and monitor a robust Financial Reporting Controls Framework for ZEN.COM in Singapore within the context of the global ZEN framework already established and governance methodology.
- Lead and document risk assessments for business processes impacting financial statements for ZEN.COM in Singapore. Work with process owners to design and implement controls to address key risks, ensuring their adequacy and operating effectiveness.
- Own financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis, including business and P&L ownership.
- Manage the company's financial model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including full balance sheet reconciliation, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Optimize monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes, partnering with the accounting team.
- Liaise with external advisors such as bankers, auditors, insurers, and lawyers and maintain good relationship.
- Develop financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ZEN.COM in Singapore to assess business and financial strategy success in the context of the global framework of ZEN.COM
- Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), including all required filings under the Payment Services Act (PSA).
- Maintain a good relationship with the MAS and stay updated on regulatory changes.
- Work with external consultants when necessary to address any gaps in the finance team's capacity or expertise regarding regulatory compliance.
- Audit
- Select and maintain relationships with auditors, ensuring they are approved by MAS if required.
- Ensure audits are completed on time and all reports are submitted to shareholders and relevant authorities within the required deadlines.
- Lead and manage the entire financial audit process for ZEN.COM in Singapore
- Lead on Internal audits related to Finance – like Safeguarding and Capital adequacy audits when such are required
- Lead on financially related audits/inspections from MAS, Tax authorities, Labor Inspectorate and other local authorities---
- Safeguarding of Customer Funds
- This is a critical requirement under the PSA. The CFO must ensure the segregation of customer funds from corporate funds, a core regulatory duty.
- Oversee daily segregation and approval of client funds.
- Manage payments to and from safeguarding accounts, ensuring strict adherence to the MAS's safeguarding requirements.
- Organize the management of safeguarding bank accounts and build relationships with safeguarding account providers.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure, ensuring its implementation and adherence.
- Support the Head of Treasury Management and Head of Finance Singapore in ensuring compliance with the safeguarding framework.
- Capital Adequacy
- Act as the owner of the Capital Adequacy Policy and Ratios, ensuring the process is effective and efficient. This is a key MAS requirement.
- Manage the creation and updating of the Capital Adequacy Policy, perform regular calculations, and escalate to the board and shareholders if ratios fall below MAS-prescribed thresholds.
- Lead the implementation of the Capital Policy and Procedures to ensure continuous compliance.
- Taxation
- Ensure all tax returns are calculated properly and submitted on time, and payments are executed accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with Singaporean local tax system and transfer pricing regulations and handle regular transfer pricing reporting.
- Other
- Support the Global expansion in the region, during the application process in various countries
