The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for driving the organization’s financial strategy, governance, and long-term value creation. The role partners closely with the CEO and Board to ensure financial discipline, sustainable growth, capital efficiency, and risk management, while enabling business scale through robust planning, controls, and insights.
The CFO will lead financial stewardship, performance management, compliance, and capital allocation, providing strategic guidance to support decision-making across the enterprise and strengthen the organization’s financial resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the overall financial strategy aligned to the organisation’s long-term business goals.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing insights to drive profitable and sustainable growth.
Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance, track key metrics, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Drive cost optimisation, margin improvement, and capital efficiency initiatives.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Oversee statutory compliance, audits, taxation, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain high standards of financial integrity and transparency.
Capital & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flows, working capital, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
- Lead fund-raising, debt structuring, investor relations, and capital allocation decisions.
M&A, Transactions & Special Initiatives
- Evaluate and execute M&A, divestments, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead financial due diligence, valuation, integration, and synergy realisation.
- Support IPO or large-scale transformation initiatives, where applicable.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performing finance organisation, ensuring strong succession and capability development.
- Embed a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous improvement.
Role Specifications
- Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in large, complex or fast-growing organisations.
- Strong exposure to strategic finance, controllership, taxation, treasury, and compliance.
- Proven experience working with Boards, Audit Committees, and external stakeholders (auditors, bankers, regulators).
- Track record in capital structuring, fund raising, M&A, or IPO readiness (as relevant to business context).
- Deep understanding of Indian regulatory, taxation, and corporate governance frameworks.
- Strong business partnering capability with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- High integrity, strong analytical capability, and sound commercial judgement.
