Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal leadership role that is responsible for the entire financial health and strategic direction of TAS Environmental Services. The incumbent will report directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors. The CFO is a key partner in driving the company’s growth and profitability. The CFO’s key responsibilities include working effectively with private equity sponsors, optimizing financial operations, and successfully navigating the complexities of an M&A process from preparation through closing.
Chief Financial Officer Job Duties
- Collaborate with the CEO, leadership team, and private equity partners to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals and the private equity firm’s investment thesis.
- Proactively identify and drive initiatives that enhance shareholder value, including revenue growth, cost optimization, working capital management, and capital allocation.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison with the private equity firm, providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting, analysis, and strategic updates. Manage covenant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, analyses, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning process. Develop robust financial models and performance metrics to drive business insights and decision-making.
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and timely production of financial statements. Manage external audits and tax compliance.
- Optimize working capital and cashflow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and strategic initiatives. Manage banking relationships and debt facilities.
- Manage all treasury functions, including cash management, investments, and risk management.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Lead the financial preparation for potential sale, including developing comprehensive data rooms, financial models, and detailed historical and projected financial performance.
- Work closely with the CEO, Board, and advisors on valuation analyses, deal structuring, and negotiation strategies.
- Coordinate and manage the financial due diligence process with prospective buyers, responding to inquiries, providing requested information, and clarifying financial performance.
- Ensure a smooth financial transition post-sale, including final accounting, closing adjustments, and communication with all stakeholders.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5-7 years in a CFO or VP of Finance role.
- Proven experience working directly with private equity firms, including managing investor relations, reporting, and value creation initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in leading an organization through an M&A process, including due diligence preparation and execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a finance team.
