Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
EdTech SaaS | Series B Scale-Up
The Role
We are seeking a commercial, hands-on CFO to partner with the CEO and Board in scaling a fast-growing EdTech SaaS business following a successful Series B raise.
This is a pivotal role combining strategic finance leadership, operational rigour, and investor credibility, supporting rapid revenue growth, international expansion, and long-term value creation.
The CFO will build a world-class finance function while acting as a trusted adviser on strategy, capital allocation, unit economics, and risk.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Commercial Leadership
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, shaping company strategy and long-term financial planning
- Lead financial input into growth initiatives, pricing strategy, market entry, and product investment decisions
- Drive value creation through disciplined capital allocation and performance management
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning aligned to ARR growth and customer lifetime value
- Develop robust SaaS metrics and dashboards (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, gross margin, burn, runway)
- Ensure data-driven decision-making across leadership and functional teams
Investor & Board Engagement
- Serve as the primary financial interface with investors, Board members, and lenders
- Prepare and present Board packs, investor updates, and financial narratives suitable for future fundraising
- Support Series C readiness, strategic partnerships, and potential M&A activity
Financial Operations & Controls
- Build and lead a scalable finance function, including accounting, FP&A, tax, and compliance
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and audit readiness
- Oversee cash management, working capital, and treasury strategy
Revenue & Commercial Finance
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to optimise revenue recognition, pricing, and contract structures
- Support scaling of subscription, enterprise, and international revenue models
- Ensure compliance with SaaS accounting standards (e.g. IFRS / GAAP, revenue recognition)
Technology & Systems
- Lead the selection and implementation of finance systems appropriate for a scaling SaaS business
- Ensure seamless integration with CRM, billing, and analytics platforms
Candidate ProfileExperience
- Proven CFO or senior finance leader experience within a high-growth SaaS or technology scale-up
- Prior exposure to VC-backed businesses, ideally at Series B–C stage or beyond
- Strong understanding of subscription-based business models and unit economics
- Experience supporting international expansion and complex revenue models
- Track record of building finance functions that scale

Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent financial qualification
- Strong grounding in SaaS financial metrics and reporting
