Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Lower-Mid Market Software Business

Our client are at an exciting point in their journey in the final stages of its private equity investment cycle.
We’re looking for a CFO who can step in and make a tangible impact someone who thrives on strategy, commercial insight, and driving results in a high-growth environment.
This isn’t about building a team from scratch. The finance function is strong. What our client need is a leader who can take it to the next level: helping the business accelerate revenue, optimize operations, and ensure they are fully exit-ready.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the finance function with authority and influence, partnering across the business to drive performance and decision-making
- Working hand-in-hand with the CEO and Board to shape strategy, reporting, and forecasting ahead of exit
- Driving margin improvement and supporting commercial initiatives to maximize value
- Leading exit preparation, including due diligence, data rooms, and financial modelling
- Optimizing KPIs, financial planning, and cash-flow management to keep the business on track
- Ensuring systems, controls, and reporting meet the standards expected by investors and acquirers
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the Board and investors during the transaction process
Who we’re looking for:
- A CFO with experience in high-growth software or tech businesses
- Proven track record preparing companies for exit to a Mid-Market sponsor
- Commercially sharp, data-driven, and confident in collaborating with operational and sales teams
- Experienced with budgets, forecasts, and reporting in fast-moving, scaling businesses
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification
- South East based, ambitious, and ready to play a central role in a milestone exit
