Sales Operations Manager
This role is responsible for managing the full freight movement lifecycle — from securing clients and negotiating rates to dispatching, tracking, and ensuring successful delivery. The ideal candidate has a brokerage background, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at multitasking, problem-solving, and relationship-building.
Responsibilities
- Source carriers and negotiate competitive rates for truckload and LTL freight across various lanes
- Manage the entire shipment lifecycle: booking, dispatching, tracking, delivery confirmation, and documentation
- Source new clients and generate freight volumes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers to drive recurring business
- Monitor shipments in real time and proactively resolve service issues, delays, and accessorial needs
- Ensure accurate entry of load data, rate confirmations, and tracking updates into the TMS
- Provide clear and proactive load status updates to customers throughout transit
- Work with accounting to verify billing documents (BOLs, PODs, invoices) and resolve discrepancies
- Meet or exceed daily/weekly KPIs for booked loads, gross margin, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage or 3PL logistics, managing cradle-to-grave shipments and/or transportation sales
- Sales background with a proven book of business preferred
- Strong carrier network knowledge and familiarity with Canadian and/or U.S. trucking lanes
- Proven negotiation and communication skills with the ability to maintain profitable margins
- Experience managing shipments from start to finish (cradle-to-grave model)
- Proficiency with load boards (Load Link, DAT, Truckstop, etc.) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Strong multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Clear, assertive, and professional communication skills (phone and email)
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and remain solution-focused
- Customer service-oriented mindset
