Job Purpose
Herc Rentals has successfully launched a critical safety and technology initiative supporting our mobile workforce across North America. We are now seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to own the ongoing sustainment, optimization, and field enablement of this program.This role is accountable for maintaining momentum, supporting the field with speed and urgency, continuously refining the program through coaching and safety‑focused enhancements, and ensuring the initiative delivers measurable operational and safety outcomes. The position includes direct people leadership, with responsibility for a dedicated direct report who manages the administrative execution of the program.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates strong change management capability, communicates effectively with all levels of the organization, remains composed under pressure, collaborates seamlessly across teams, and is comfortable presenting to senior leaders.
What You Will Do...
Program Ownership & Sustainment
- Serve as the operational owner of an enterprise safety and technology program that is live and deployed across the field
- Ensure consistent execution, adoption, and reinforcement of program standards across regions and functions
- Maintain positive momentum by actively gathering field feedback and translating it into actionable improvements
People Leadership & Collaboration
- Directly manage and develop a program administrator responsible for day‑to‑day administrative execution
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and prioritization to ensure timely, accurate program support
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners including Operations, Safety, Fleet, IT, and vendors to drive alignment and results
- Foster a collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach across team members and stakeholders
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication and a strong working relationship with the program’s technology partner, including leading weekly touch base meetings to review performance, issues, enhancements, and upcoming priorities.
Field Support & Sense of Urgency
- Act as a primary escalation and support point for field teams, responding to issues, questions, and requests with a strong sense of urgency
- Deliver near‑real‑time responses to operational, technology, and process inquiries to support field execution
- Maintain professionalism, composure, and clarity when operating in high‑volume, fast‑paced, and time‑sensitive situations
- Balance immediate field needs with long‑term program stability and continuous improvement
Change Management, Communication & Reinforcement
- Apply structured change management practices to reinforce behaviors, adoption, and long‑term program success
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the field, from frontline employees to regional and senior leaders
- Translate complex concepts into clear, practical guidance that resonates with diverse audiences
- Reinforce program expectations through ongoing communication, coaching, training, and feedback loops
Continuous Improvement & Safety Focus
- Continuously refine the program through coaching, safety observations, operational insights, and field feedback
- Identify opportunities to enhance safety outcomes, usability, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Stay focused on both proactive improvement and responsive problem‑solving
Data, Integrations & Reporting
- Partner with IT, Fleet, and vendors to understand, maintain, and evolve data integrations across systems
- Define, develop, and manage meaningful operational and safety KPIs, dashboards, and reporting
- Analyze trends and translate data into actionable insights for leadership and field teams
Executive & Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and confident presentations to senior leadership
- Communicate program performance, risks, trends, and improvement plans with credibility and impact
- Influence stakeholders through data‑driven storytelling and operational insight
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting, operating, or optimizing large‑scale operational or technology programs
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including direct report management
- Strong change management skillset with experience driving adoption in field‑based environments
- Proven ability to operate with urgency while maintaining composure and professionalism
- Experience with data integrations, KPI development, and performance reporting
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
- Highly collaborative, adaptable, and effective in fast‑paced environments
- Passion for leveraging technology to improve safety and operational outcomes

Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000
