Our client, a rapidly growing Environmental Services organization, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations across the business and its subsidiaries.
The CFO will play a critical role in driving the company’s financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives. This individual will oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, banking and treasury management, KPI development, and acquisition-related financial due diligence and integration activities. The successful candidate will also provide strategic financial leadership to senior executives while overseeing the finance function across multiple entities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy in alignment with executive leadership and business objectives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning across all entities and subsidiaries.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reporting, including variance analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, treasury functions, cash flow management, and financial risk mitigation.
- Lead financial due diligence, modelling, and valuation analysis related to acquisitions and growth initiatives.
- Oversee post-acquisition financial integration, including systems, controls, reporting, and process alignment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team across the organization.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and senior leadership to support strategic business initiatives and operational excellence.
- Provide financial insight and strategic counsel to support executive decision-making and organizational growth.
Qualifications
- CPA or CA designation required.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience at the CFO or senior executive finance level.
- Experience working closely with Private Equity groups and supporting growth-oriented organizations.
- Industry experience within Environmental Services, transportation, trucking, logistics, waste management, or related sectors is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing banking relationships, lending structures, and credit facilities.
- Demonstrated success developing and managing KPI-driven financial performance metrics.
- Direct experience leading acquisitions, financial due diligence, and post-acquisition integration activities.
- Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity financial management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
