Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Mandatory Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Experience: 15–20 years in Finance, with at least 5 years in a Leadership/GM role within a Chemical or Agrochemical company.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team of professionals.
- Key Attributes:
- Strong management skills for cash flows and P&L.
- Expertise in manufacturing-linked Plant Finance and Strategic Pricing.
- Highly skilled in Financial Analysis and Business Partnering.
Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and growth-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to steer the financial and strategic direction of our agrochemical business. As a Chartered Accountant with substantial leadership experience, you will be responsible for building a resilient financial framework that supports rapid scaling. The ideal candidate possesses a positive mindset toward growth and the ability to operate independently while maintaining high-level coordination across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Growth & Market Engagement
- Maintain a positive mindset toward growth, identifying financial opportunities to scale manufacturing and market reach.
- Travel is mandatory to engage with major vendors and key customers; you will act as a strategic partner to build high-value business relationships and develop long-term growth initiatives.
- Advise the Board on capital allocation, M&A, and strategic investments to drive competitive advantage in the agrochemical sector.
2. Specialized Cash & Working Capital Management
- Demonstrate deep familiarity with industry-specific cash cycles, including managing the high volatility and seasonality inherent in the crop protection market.
- Take ownership of cash flow management, ensuring the company maintains optimal liquidity at all times.
- Independently manage accounts payable and receivable, implementing rigorous credit control policies to manage long debtor cycles effectively.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership & Coordination
- Establish mature coordination with all Sales Heads and the Procurement department to align financial targets with market demand and supply chain costs.
- Partner with procurement to optimize raw material sourcing costs and with sales to ensure profitable pricing strategies.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team of 8–10 members, fostering professional development and operational efficiency.
4. Financial Controllership & Reporting
- Oversee all Financial Reporting, FP&A, and Management Accounting to provide a clear picture of plant-level and business-wide performance.
- Drive Process Automation within the finance function to enhance accuracy and speed of decision-making.
- Manage MIS and Reporting for the Board, ensuring transparency and data-driven insights.
5. Legal & Corporate Finance
- Ensure 100% legal and statutory compliance with sector-specific regulations (e.g., Insecticides Act, GST, Environmental levies).
- Manage corporate finance, treasury, and tax planning to minimize risk and optimize the cost of capital.
