Commercial CFO
Daniel’s went from one donut store in Springvale in 2016 to a national brand with more than 50 stores, 650 people and manufacturing in four states. Few Australian businesses have grown this fast. We are looking for the commercial CFO who will help shape what it becomes next.
This is a rare chance to strengthen the financial engine of a high growth brand at the moment it matters most. You will create the foundations the next phase depends on, then use them to find the margin, free the cash and drive the decisions that turn fast growth into lasting success. You will be equally at home in the boardroom, on the factory floor and inside the numbers, and you will see your impact everywhere. This business is all about growth, and that growth is funded by running a tight ship on costings and cost accounting.
What you will own
- A tight ship on costings and cost accounting, with product economics understood to the cent and margin opportunities captured.
- Cash forecast tightly and put to work, with working capital and inventory under genuine control.
- Reporting the leadership team trusts, delivered on time and built to drive decisions.
- Strong controls, clean audits and confident lender and Board relationships.
- A high performing finance team and commercial thinking that spreads across the business.
Who you are
Above all, you run a tight ship on costings and cost accounting.
- You cost a product to the cent, and you know exactly where margin leaks.
- You are a qualified CFO, Finance Director or Head of Finance who has led finance in a manufacturing business.
- You know inventory every day, you are obsessed with cash, you challenge purchasing decisions, and you know your top customers and suppliers.
- You are happy to roll your sleeves up, and you operate more like an owner than a corporate CFO, with urgency and a bias to action.
- You have driven EBITDA growth, cash generation and transformation, not just reported them, and you bring that energy to a fast moving, entrepreneurial business.
Where you have come from
Most likely an established finance leader from a $100M to $300M food, FMCG, beverage, packaging or industrial manufacturer, ideally privately or family owned rather than a large listed corporate. Retail experience and a background in founder led, private equity backed or investor led businesses are valuable additions.
What is on offer
- The opportunity to convert significant investment into sustainable profitability and disciplined growth.
- A $300k+ package and visible impact on the outcome of a fast-growing Australian brand.
- Real pace, autonomy and the scope to shape strategy and build capability.
- Being part of LK Group, a diverse group that owns businesses across retail, hospitality, property, manufacturing and technology.
For the right leader, this is the role you look back on as the one where you built something that lasts.
