Tiello has partnered with a premier $360M+ Structural Steel Fabricator/Erector and a key leader in the Manufacturing industry, who is looking to add an experienced Chief Financial Officer(CFO) to their team of companies.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and strategic business partner to the CEO, providing financial leadership that supports the company's continued growth, operational excellence, and long-term profitability. This executive will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, banking relationships, bonding, risk management, tax, insurance, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate combines strong financial leadership with experience in construction, structural steel fabrication, manufacturing, or other project-based industries where cash flow management, WIP reporting, and operational decision-making are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to establish and execute long-term strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial insight to support business growth, acquisitions, capital investments, and operational improvements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor regarding financial performance, risk management, and corporate strategy.
- Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to ownership and executive leadership.
Financial Management
- Direct all accounting and finance operations.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Manage corporate cash flow and working capital strategies.
- Develop KPIs and executive dashboards that drive operational performance.
- Ensure accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and percentage-of-completion accounting.
Construction & Operational Finance
- Monitor project profitability and margin performance across fabrication and erection operations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Estimating, Project Management, and Production to improve project financial performance.
- Review contract terms and financial risks associated with large construction projects.
- Analyze labor productivity, fabrication efficiency, equipment utilization, and overhead allocation.
- Support estimating and preconstruction teams with financial analysis and historical cost data.
Banking, Bonding & Treasury
- Maintain relationships with banks, sureties, and financial institutions.
- Manage bonding capacity and surety relationships.
- Lead annual audits and lender reporting requirements.
- Oversee treasury operations and debt management.
- Evaluate financing strategies for equipment and capital expenditures.
Risk Management
- Oversee insurance programs including Builder's Risk, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Professional Liability.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and corporate governance.
- Evaluate contractual and operational risks.
- Partner with legal counsel on financial matters and contract review.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the Accounting and Finance Department.
- Develop succession planning within the finance organization.
- Foster collaboration across Accounting, Operations, Estimating, HR, IT, and Executive Leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation and technology.
Qualifications:
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration CPA preferred; MBA a plus
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Previous experience as CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or Finance Executive
