About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary (CFO) leads the organisation's financial strategy, governance and performance. Working closely with the Board and Executive Team, the role provides strategic direction and hands-on oversight of the full finance function, from reporting, budgeting and longer-range financial planning through to statutory compliance, treasury and transactional operations. It also brings commercial rigour to pricing, investment decisions and the financial evaluation of transformation initiatives. As Company Secretary, the role coordinates the corporate governance and secretariat function, ensuring statutory, regulatory and constitutional obligations are met, supporting the Board and its Committees, and leading the ongoing review of governance frameworks and instruments. Key to success will be operating as a trusted adviser to the Board, Chair, CEO and Executive Leadership Team on both financial performance and governance matters.
About you
CA or CPA qualified, you are an accomplished finance and governance leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a practical, hands-on approach. You have experience undertaking Company Secretary responsibilities, or working closely with Boards and Board Committees, within a complex and stakeholder-rich environment. Equally comfortable operating at a strategic and operational level, you bring deep expertise across financial management, statutory and financial reporting, corporate governance, legislative compliance, and Board administration You have a proven track record of partnering with Boards and Executive Leadership Teams, providing trusted advice on financial performance, governance obligations and strategic priorities. Your ability to navigate complexity, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver sustainable outcomes is complemented by sound judgement and a solutions-focused mindset. As a relationship-oriented leader, you build credibility quickly and engage effectively with Directors, executives, members and external stakeholders alike. You are recognised for your influencing skills, integrity, resilience and ability to lead through change. Experience leading systems improvement or integration initiatives, together with an interest in Australia's clean energy transition, will be highly regarded.
