Job Summary:
The Senior Data Analyst, Revenue Operations will be a foundational member of the go-to-market (GTM) team with a mission to drive meaningful insights to inform effective decision-making for the GTM team. You will be on the forefront of accelerating our data-driven culture! You will ask the right questions, identify patterns and insights from data and then collaborate across GTM teams to tell a comprehensive story with data. You will be a trusted business partner to design, build, and maintain dashboards and operationalize data. Contributions in this role will directly impact major strategic Sales, Customer Success (CS), and Marketing efforts including sales bookings, funnel optimization, pipeline forecasts, sales capacity plans, Ideal Customer Profile analysis, annual planning and target setting, churn and retention forecasting, and marketing initiatives ROI. This role provides extensive opportunity to work cross-functionally not only with Sales, Marketing, CS, but also Finance, Product, and IT.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Data Visualization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build meaningful and insightful dashboards that effectively communicate business metrics and attainment against targets. Be able to tell a story with data in such a way that the story is digestible to all levels of business (e.g., be able to think like an executive to display insightful executive summaries of key business metrics). Work with business partners to understand objectives, “the why”, and guide the use of data to effectively answer business questions.
- Continuous Improvement: Use data to identify insights that drive enhanced business performance. Help the GTM understand what is working and where we need to improve such as funnel optimization, GTM playbooks and strategies. Operationalize data in our GTM processes so that teams are equipped to use data regularly and enable new capabilities such as regression analysis, ML and AI to create continuous feedback loops.
- Opportunity and Risk Identification: Be proactive in uncovering opportunities by asking thoughtful questions, diving deeper into data trends, and building a strong business acumen to complement technical knowledge.
- Change Management and Data Quality: Work with the RevOps team to manage a review and maintenance cadence for all dashboards produced. Partner with the Community of Practice to follow best practices for data accuracy and maintenance. Work with the IT Data Services team to build new data pipelines accurately, update the OI warehouse and data modeling as needed. Understand underlying processes that create data to provide context and spot data integrity issues. Be a champion of data strategy and governance in cross-functional data projects.
- Annual Planning & Modeling: Build and maintain forecasting and planning models based on historical and current data that help to set targets and KPIs for yearly planning for sales, marketing and customer success groups. Leverage data to inform opportunities, GTM strategies and optimizations that contribute to D2L’s revenue growth and efficiency. Assist in modeling revenue impacts of new products, features, or M&A activity to evaluate organizational plans, resource allocations etc.
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- 5+ years experience as a Data Analyst in a SaaS environment (GTM/RevOps experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of key SaaS metrics as they relate to GTM
- Extensive experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI preferred), and SQL
- Data visualization tools (PowerBI): Advanced to Expert-level knowledge using both desktop and online versions. Proficiency with DAX and/or M language for complex data analysis. Must be able to pull from and maintain data warehouse.
- SQL: Proficiency in SQL and a computing language such as Python or R
- API Integration: Familiarity with integrating different APIs with PowerBI
- Knowledge of and familiarity with other analytics tools preferred but not required (I.e., Tableau, Google Analytics, etc.) and modelling
- Experience with machine learning, statistics, optimization, and/or experimentation
- Proficiency with Salesforce
- Growth Mindset: Intellectual curiosity that questions “the why” and suggests new innovative ways to leverage data operationally such as ML and AI.
- Analytical/Critical Thinking: Strong business acumen and experience in synthesizing analyses into actionable recommendations. Able to tell the story behind the data and make recommendations on action items and steps forward.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience and comfortability communicating with all levels of business.
- Presentation & Preparation: Strong ability to effectively present your output and anticipate questions and concerns. Proficiency with presentation tools (I.e., Microsoft PowerPoint).
- Organization, Time Management, & Project Management: Excellent ability to prioritize concurrent projects and initiatives using refined organization and time management skills. Strong ability to create formalized project plans to document, track, and manage large-scale Reporting & Analytics initiatives.
- Candidates must be located within the Eastern or Central time zone.
Education Recommendations:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience is an asset

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
Base Salary Range
$87,000—$100,000 CAD
