Position
The Sales & Operations Planning Coordinator (SOPC) plays a critical role at the intersection of Sales, Production, and Fulfillment. This hybrid role combines demand planning, order management, and customer relationship responsibilities to ensure accurate forecasting, smooth order fulfillment, and exceptional customer support.
As the first point of contact for many clients, the SOPC provides knowledgeable guidance, manages the end-to-end order process, and supports the execution of sales strategies. Simultaneously, the role is responsible for forecasting demand, maintaining production/utilization accuracy, and improving operational efficiency across the product portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Operational Support
- Maintain perishable product utilization at or above 85% across the portfolio.
- Manage production scheduling for liquid yeast in collaboration with Production Manager
- Identify and implement efficiencies in production, distribution, and inventory management (e.g., turnover, shelf life).
- Track and report demand trends, providing insights to management for planning and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with CEO and Sales Account Managers on product portfolio management (pruning and adding products)
- Support special projects (sales, operations, and product management) as determined by management.
- Assist with packaging and shipping as needed, including Homebrew line products.
Sales & Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the first point of contact for prospective and existing customers, providing knowledgeable product support.
- Manage the end-to-end order process: triage inquiries, process orders, and track fulfillment.
- Collaborate with Fulfillment and Production to prioritize orders and ensure timely shipment.
- Assist customers with a high level of urgency and accountability in the event of delayed or damaged shipments.
- Escalate new sales opportunities to regional Sales Account Managers.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and complaints in CRM/ERP systems.
Sales Strategy & Reporting
- Provide input on marketing and sales strategies based on demand trends and customer feedback.
- Deliver monthly reports on performance metrics and market opportunities.
- Participate in sales/operations planning meetings to align customer demand with production capacity.
- Assist in customer onboarding and relationship management programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Business, Brewing, or related field.
- Prior experience in sales, customer service, operations, or demand planning roles preferred.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset.
- Project Management or Product Management training is an asset.
- Technological proficiency (GoogleSuite, Slack, Notion, programming knowledge, experience using AI tools) is an asset.
- Previous experience in cross-functional projects is desirable.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, especially in the brewing industry.
- Understanding of fermentation science and brewery operations, and beer fermentation troubleshooting (asset).
- Exceptional communication skills: concise, organized, and responsive in fast-paced environments.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Analytical mindset, capable of interpreting sales and demand data to inform decision-making.
- Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems (We use NetSuite).
- Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to balance customer service excellence with operational efficiency.
