We are exclusively partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed financial services organisation at a pivotal stage of its journey. This mid-cap business is preparing for a significant exit event, and we are seeking an exceptional CFO to lead the financial strategy and execution through this critical phase.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic leadership team and play a central role in driving value creation, ensuring robust financial governance, and delivering a successful exit. The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence with commercial acumen and proven experience in private equity environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as a strategic partner to the CEO and PE sponsors, shaping business strategy and execution.
- Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term value creation initiatives.
- Providing insightful analysis to support commercial, operational, and investment decisions.
- Owning the financial aspects of the PE value creation plan and exit readiness.
- Managing preparations for exit, including vendor due diligence, financial modelling, and data room readiness.
- Building strong relationships with PE investors, lenders, advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Delivering high-quality board reporting and investor communications.
- Ensuring robust financial controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Overseeing statutory reporting, audit, tax, and governance frameworks.
- Driving process improvement, automation, and systems enhancements.
- Leading cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and funding structures.
- Evaluating and executing M&A opportunities, bolt-on acquisitions, and integration activities.
The Ideal Candidate
- A Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation.
- Proven experience operating as CFO or Finance Director within a PE-backed mid-cap organisations.
- Strong background in financial services (e.g., asset management, lending, insurance, fintech, or advisory).
- Demonstrable exit experience (trade sale, secondary buyout, or IPO).
- Experience working closely with PE sponsors and boards, influencing at the highest level.
- Hands-on, commercially minded, and outcomes-driven, with gravitas to operate at board level.
- Resilient and adaptable, comfortable in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
