Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and long-term growth initiatives. This role combines high-level financial leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing all finance functions and supporting acquisition-related activities. The CFO will collaborate across multiple offices and business units to ensure profitability and organizational scalability. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead all finance and accounting functions across a multi-office professional services organization
- Partner with CEO, COO, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and business decisions
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning processes
- Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, and capital management strategies
- Drive financial reporting and deliver actionable insights to leadership
- Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts for acquisitions
- Evaluate firm performance, profitability, and operational efficiency across business units
- Modernize reporting, analytics, and financial processes where appropriate
- Develop and mentor the finance team, including long-tenured employees and future talent
Required Experience/Skills
- Current or recent CFO experience within a professional services organization
- Expertise in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and treasury
- Strong background in banking relationships and financial strategy
- Executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership
- Experience managing multi-location organizations
- Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to operate in entrepreneurial and evolving environments
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Private Equity-backed company experience
- Acquisition-heavy or platform company experience
- Investor-backed organization experience
- Experience supporting rapid growth and organizational scaling
- Previous leadership within a partnership structure
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- MBA or advanced degree in Finance preferred
- CPA designation is a plus
- Continuing education in financial strategy and leadership highly desirable
