PRODUCT & BUSINESS OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE
Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Full-time | On-site
ABOUT THE ROLE
SVECTOR is hiring a Product & Business Operations Associate to work across product, customer, research and business execution.
This role is designed for an early-career technical professional who wants to operate beyond a narrow software-development function and work across technology, product, customers, research and company-building.
You will work closely with the Founder-CEO and relevant functional teams on selected high-priority initiatives across SVECTOR.
This is not an administrative role.
You will be expected to understand problems, structure them, identify what needs to happen, coordinate the relevant people and carry assigned work through to a clear and verified result.
The role requires someone who can move comfortably between technical and business problems.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
1. PRODUCT & BUSINESS EXECUTION
You will take ownership of assigned product and business initiatives.
Typical responsibilities may include:
• Understanding a customer, product or business problem before work begins
• Converting unclear requests into structured problem statements and requirements
• Defining expected outcomes, owners, dependencies and timelines
• Coordinating with Product, Engineering and business teams
• Identifying missing inputs and blockers
• Following work through rather than simply forwarding instructions
• Reviewing whether the delivered result actually solves the original problem
• Maintaining clear records of open issues, decisions and next actions
• Escalating decisions when authority or additional support is required
You should be comfortable taking an objective that is initially ambiguous and turning it into practical execution.
2. PRODUCT UNDERSTANDING
Strong product understanding is important for this role.
You may be expected to:
• Use SVECTOR products and understand important workflows
• Understand the intended user and customer problem
• Review customer feedback and product issues
• Distinguish between defects, requirements and new product requests
• Prepare product requirements and acceptance criteria
• Understand APIs, integrations, data flows and technical dependencies
• Follow technical discussions with engineers
• Participate in demos, pilots and implementation discussions
• Verify whether an agreed workflow is actually ready
You do not need to be a full-time software developer.
However, you should have enough technical understanding to work intelligently with engineers and enough business understanding to know why the technical work matters.
3. RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
Research will be an important part of the role.
You may investigate:
• Companies
• Customers
• Markets
• Competitors
• Technologies
• Industries
• Product opportunities
• Enterprise accounts
• Candidates
• Market-entry questions
• Commercial models
• Strategic business questions
Good research should clearly distinguish between:
• Verified facts
• Estimates
• Assumptions
• Interpretation
• Missing information
You should be comfortable reading original material, comparing conflicting evidence, checking numbers and explaining the business implication of what you find.
We do not want surface-level summaries.
We want someone who can enter an unfamiliar subject, understand it quickly and produce a useful conclusion.
4. AI-NATIVE WORK
This is an AI-native role.
You should already be comfortable using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or equivalent systems for professional work.
You may use AI for:
• Research
• Document analysis
• Writing
• Data organization
• Summarization
• Workflow automation
• Structured analysis
• Repetitive work
• Product thinking
However, you remain responsible for every output.
You should be able to explain:
• What you asked the system to do
• Which sources were used
• What assumptions were made
• What the model got wrong
• What you corrected
• What remains uncertain
Copying an AI-generated answer without understanding or verifying it is not acceptable.
5. CUSTOMER & COMMERCIAL WORK
You may support selected customer and commercial initiatives.
This may include:
• Researching customers and accounts before meetings
• Understanding customer workflows and requirements
• Preparing meeting briefs and talking points
• Drafting customer communication and follow-ups
• Preparing product or commercial material
• Coordinating internal responses to customer questions
• Maintaining customer commitments and next steps
• Supporting demos, pilots and implementation discussions
• Following open issues through to a confirmed outcome
Sending a follow-up is not the outcome.
The expectation is to understand what needs to happen next and keep the work moving until there is a clear result or next state.
6. HIRING & PEOPLE RESEARCH
The role may also support selected hiring initiatives.
You may work on:
• Understanding why a role exists
• Preparing role briefs
• Researching candidates
• Reviewing candidate evidence
• Preparing interview material
• Comparing candidates
• Coordinating selected hiring processes
• Maintaining accurate hiring records and next steps
This is not an HR or Talent Acquisition position.
The objective is to support better hiring decisions using structured evidence.
7. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION & MEETING PREPARATION
You may prepare:
• Customer briefs
• Internal memos
• Research summaries
• Meeting notes
• Talking points
• Product requirements
• Candidate comparisons
• Proposal content
• Presentation outlines
• Follow-up communication
For important meetings, you may be expected to understand:
• Who is attending
• Prior correspondence
• Relevant documents
• Outstanding questions
• Previous commitments
• Intended meeting outcome
• Required next actions
When the same topic returns later, the relevant context should already be organized and available.
8. OWNERSHIP STANDARD
This role is built around ownership.
We do not consider the following to be completed work:
“I sent the message.”
“I followed up.”
“I informed the team.”
“I completed my part.”
The expected operating pattern is:
Understand the result.
Build the plan.
Get the required inputs.
Move the work.
Resolve blockers.
Escalate what genuinely requires a decision.
Check the final result.
Close the loop.
For important assignments, you should always know:
• What outcome is expected
• Who is responsible
• What information is missing
• What dependencies exist
• What deadline applies
• What could block completion
• What remains unresolved
• What decision is required

Preferred educational backgrounds include:

• Software Engineering
• Artificial Intelligence

• Product

WHAT WE VALUE
HIGH OWNERSHIP
You attempt solutions and move work forward without waiting for detailed instructions at every step.
TECHNICAL FLUENCY
You can understand software products, APIs, integrations, data flows and implementation constraints.
PRODUCT THINKING
You think about the user, customer problem, workflow and outcome, not only the feature.
RESEARCH DEPTH
You can independently investigate unfamiliar subjects and reach a reasoned conclusion.
STRONG WRITING
Your work should be clear, structured and usable without requiring complete rewriting.
JUDGMENT
You understand what you can handle independently and what genuinely requires escalation.
RELIABILITY
If you commit to something, it gets done, or the problem is raised before the deadline.
LEARNING SPEED
You can enter a new subject, ask precise questions and become useful quickly.
AI FLUENCY
You use modern AI tools seriously and understand how to verify their outputs.
DISCRETION
You will have access to company, customer, personnel and strategic information. Confidential information must remain confidential and be shared only with authorized people for legitimate company work.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
This is not:
• A personal assistant role
• A calendar-management position
• An administrative support role
• A pure strategy job
• A pure research role
• A pure software-development role
• A conventional project coordinator position
• A role where work ends after forwarding an instruction
Personal errands, household matters and lifestyle management are outside the scope of this position.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Employment: Full-time
Work mode: On-site
The environment is fast-moving and priorities may change as customer, product and company requirements evolve.
You should be comfortable operating in ambiguity while creating structure around the work you own.
Important product, customer or company matters may occasionally require responsiveness outside normal working hours.
SELECTION PROCESS
We care more about actual ability than polished interview answers.
The selection process may include:
1. Initial conversation
2. Product or research exercise
3. Business writing / execution exercise
4. Final discussion
AI tools may be used during selected exercises.
Candidates will be expected to explain their reasoning, sources, assumptions, decisions and corrections.
If you are young, technically strong, curious about business, comfortable with AI, capable of learning quickly and want to work across product, customers and execution rather than remain inside one narrow function, we would like to hear from you.
