Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - High-Growth Australian Startup
A high-growth Australian startup with bold international ambitions is seeking an experienced and strategic Global CFO to join its founding executive team. Backed by a compelling vision and strong momentum, the business is preparing to scale operations rapidly across Australia, Singapore, the US, and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the global financial and corporate foundation of a business from the ground up. The CFO will take ownership of all global financial operations, lead the design and execution of optimal corporate structures (including parent and subsidiary entities), and support future capital raising and operational scale across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and establish global corporate and entity structures, including legal and tax considerations in Australia, Singapore, the US, and other target regions.
- Set up financial systems, controls, governance, and compliance frameworks to support international growth.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and investor reporting.
- Work closely with the CEO and Board on capital strategy, including venture funding and debt planning.
- Partner with external legal, accounting, and tax advisors in each region.
- Oversee international financial reporting standards and ensure local compliance (e.g., ATO, ASIC, IRS, IRAS, etc.).
- Build and lead the global finance team over time.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a startup, scaleup, or high-growth business.
- Deep understanding of international corporate structuring, ideally across at least two of the following regions: Australia, Singapore, US.
- Expertise in fundraising, cap table management, and investor relations in venture-backed environments.
- Prior experience navigating regulatory frameworks (e.g., ASIC, ATO, IRAS, SEC) and establishing entities in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with transfer pricing, intercompany agreements, and international tax structuring.
- Australian professional qualifications preferred: CA, CPA, or CFA, and membership of relevant bodies such as CA ANZ or CPA Australia.
- A strategic mindset and hands-on approach – comfortable in an agile, startup environment.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to operate across cultures and geographies.
