Our client is seeking the experience of a skilled, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team.
As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will take ownership of all financial aspects of the business and provide strategic leadership to ensure the company's financial health, growth, and long-term sustainability.
This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual who can manage day-to-day financial operations while also contributing to strategic decision-making and business development.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, finance, and business operations, with the ability to lead, implement processes, and drive improvements across the financial function.
The CFO will actively participate in financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as oversee internal controls, compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership: Lead the financial strategy of the company, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Provide insights and recommendations to the Founders to drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Financial Operations: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and audit processes. Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial systems.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and forecasts, ensuring they are accurate, realistic, and aligned with business objectives. Provide regular updates on financial performance to leadership.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Perform detailed financial analysis to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and revenue growth.
Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including market volatility, credit, liquidity, and operational risks. Establish and maintain effective risk management strategies and internal controls.
Capital Strategy: Develop strategies for fundraising, financing, and cash flow optimization. Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial partners.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and financial standards, tax laws, and industry-specific regulations. Lead and manage audits and tax filings.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage the finance team based offshore, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to the Founders, providing financial insights to guide business decision-making and long-term planning. Collaborate with operations, sales, and marketing teams to align financial goals with operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CA, MBA or CPA is a plus.
Ideal Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in senior financial roles, with at least 3+ years in a hands-on financial leadership role in a similar-sized organization.
- Experience in the entertainment or Arts based industry and within a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
- Solid understanding of financial software, Xero preferably and financial modeling.
- Experience managing an offshore team to deliver day-to-day outcomes for the business.

- Hands-on expertise with financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
