THE ROLE
We are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team in Sydney. This is a senior appointment for an experienced finance professional who will play a critical role in the strategic and operational management of our financial functions.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the CFO will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, compliance, and reporting for our ASX-listed entity. This role demands exceptional technical capability, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment governing listed companies in Australia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Strategy
- Lead the finance function and manage the finance team
- Provide strategic financial advice and insights to the Board and executive management
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
Corporate Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive management reporting and financial information
- Ensure full compliance with ASX Listing Rules and continuous disclosure obligations
- Manage all statutory reporting requirements including ASIC, APRA, and ATO obligations
- Coordinate half-yearly and annual financial reporting cycles
- Maintain and enhance internal financial controls and risk management frameworks
Audit & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit processes
- Liaise with the Board Audit & Risk Committee
- Serve as the primary financial contact for investors, analysts, and regulators
- Support capital management initiatives and corporate transactions as required
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification
- Significant experience in audit, preferably with Big 4 or national accounting firms
- Demonstrated experience in an ASX-listed company environment
- Minimum 8–10 years’ progressive experience in senior finance roles
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AIFRS) and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage external audit processes and regulatory reporting
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance frameworks
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience in financial services, funds management, or investment management
- Knowledge of fixed income markets and products
- MBA or postgraduate qualifications in finance or business
- Experience with ASX investor relations and capital markets
