We are partnering with an emerging venture capital firm in the early stages of launch, seeking a hands-on finance leader to build and establish the firm’s financial and operational infrastructure from the ground up. This is a highly visible, project-driven role with direct exposure to the founding team and the opportunity to transition into a long-term leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the buildout of the firm’s finance and fund operations infrastructure from inception
- Oversee fund structuring and coordinate closely with legal counsel on entity formation and setup
- Select and manage third-party service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
- Establish financial reporting processes, capital call and distribution mechanics, and investor reporting frameworks
- Drive the firm’s RIA registration process and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
- Develop internal controls, policies, and operational workflows to support scalable growth
- Partner with the founders on strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Act as the primary finance point of contact for LPs, service providers, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in fund finance, preferably within venture capital, private equity, or a fund administrator
- Prior experience building or significantly scaling fund operations strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of fund structures, capital activity, and investor reporting
- Experience supporting or leading RIA registration and compliance processes is a plus
- Strong project management skills with the ability to operate independently in a startup environment
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with a strategic mindset
