Primary Purpose
The APAC CFO will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and operational efficiency within the organization.
Responsible for overseeing the Finance function and multiple critical business functions including SCM, Operational Excellence and Facility Management.
The APAC CFO is instrumental in ensuring the global strategy deployment across serval corporate functions in the APAC region. Engage closely with the commercial functions and global stakeholders to develop new commercial models and adapt the operations according to customer and business needs. This also entails the support of M&A and post-merger integration projects within the APAC region.
Key Accountabilities
Deploying financial strategies to support the regional and global business objectives
- In the pursuit of optimal business partnering, the role encompasses designing a financial organisation focused on business and customer proximity
- Maintaining up-to-date business insights for Business Units while providing financial expertise
- Taking responsibility for business results through the continuous enhancement of business steering governance and processes
- Assuming a pivotal role in informal leadership by activating the matrix organization and bridging vertical perspectives and horizontal/cross BU/sub-regional customer needs
- Actively managing talent development, diversity and job rotation within the finance team
Providing insightful financial analysis, reporting and forecasting to the executive team and global stakeholders
- Acting as an agent of data-driven analysis by endorsing advanced analytics/reporting and a comprehensive business overview
- Delivering timely and high-quality monthly financial reports to address business and operational performance and highlights potential risk, explaining trends and deviations from budget and forecast
- Preparing the annual budget and business plans according to global/APAC framework in cooperation with the CEO
Ensuring adherence to all financial regulations, reporting requirements and accounting standards
- Being accountable for ensuring smooth and compliant financial closing processes in cooperation with the shared service center and underlying APAC entities
- Timely financial closing submission towards the global headquarters
- Accountability for P&L, balance sheet, cash management, tax oversight and communication with auditors
Managing risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard financial assets Supporting deployment and execution of global strategies in APAC
- Ensuring the deployment of global strategies in APAC, adapted to regionals specifics
- Tracking APAC's progress on strategic performance indicator and reporting to global stakeholders
- Facilitating effective communication of global strategies for strategic alignment and clarity
- Supporting APAC managers in executing strategies
- Enabling the implementation of Global Target Operating Models tailored to regional and local specifics
- Assuming an overarching position to unify the APAC-wide financial organizations of both
- production and selling entities
Ensuring APAC Governance & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with Olympus APAC policies, applicable laws, regulations, and requirements of external bodies for tax and statutory requirements
- Establishing standardized rules and company policies applicable across APAC, while considering sub-regional regulations and best practices
- Ensuring the presence and adherence of appropriate control functions and tools to meet legal and internal regulations
Driving Non-Finance Administrative Functions
Facility Management
- Overseeing APAC-wide facility maintenance and management for a safe, efficient and productive work environment
- Developing and implementing sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint facilities
- Elaborating creative facility management solutions in a new normal post-pandemic world
In collaboration with cross-functional teams:
Operational Excellence & Supply Chain Management
- Being responsible for optimizing Management Reporting and Data Analytics through advanced technology implementation
- Fostering operational excellence and productivity in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Harmonizing APAC processes with the shared service center through holistic regional view
- Driving standardization through direct control over key corporate functions
- Ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness and high-quality product delivery in the end-to-end supply chain process
- Proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain-related risks, particularly in trade compliance and disruptions
Inherent Requirements
Formal Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
Key Skills / Core Competencies
- P&L responsibility
- A track record of delivering results in a complex matrix organization
- Strong understanding of global supply chain and operation management including shared service center infrastructures
- Previous experience in driving cross-functional collaboration and leading large teams
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a can-do attitude
- Able to see the big picture and give direction to the organisation while at the same time hands-on and implementation-focused
- Networker with a collaborative style and natural gravitas enabling fruitful interactions at all levels of the organization

Experience
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles
- Regional CFO experience
- Functional Leadership experience beyond Finance (i.e. SCM, Operational Excellence, Procurement, Facility Management)
- Experience in the MedTech or Healthcare industry
- Experience with Merges & Acquisitions
