About The Role
Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced senior leader in the position of Director Finance & Procurement/CFO.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Enterprise Services. This position is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will provide a high level of strategic leadership and direction to AV's Financial and Commercial Operations.
With an ability to effectively lead the development of financial and strategic plans and frameworks, and procurement and commercial strategies to facilitate the achievement of AV's Strategic Enterprise objectives, this position will be critical to:
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve financial performance within the context of AV's strategic direction and overall budget parameters
- Development and management of capital and operating budgets, optimising resources and ensuring a sustainable financial future for AV
- Ensuring all financial and accounting activities are carried out in accordance with government, legal and financial policy requirements
- Provision of specialist advice and counsel to the Executive on issues relating to the financial performance of AV, enabling budgetary issues, impacts and emerging issues can be identified and addressed
- Providing open and effective leadership to build a high performance, collaborative culture the fosters continuous improvement and development
- Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical behaviours consistent with AV values
About You
Suited to a highly motivated and strategic senior leader, the successful applicant will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications or industry specialised certifications with extensive, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive training and experience
- Current Membership of a professional accounting body (CPA or Chartered Accountant)
- Demonstrated Chief Financial Officer experience
- Significant procurement and commercial management experience within a complex, diverse environment including strong and detailed knowledge and understanding of Victorian State Government Procurement Guidelines
- Experience in driving and implementing strategic cultural, organisational, and transformational change and a commitment to build a responsive, future focused and contemporary culture at a senior level
- A high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationships and influence, negotiate, and generate buy-in with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
- A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to motivate, encourage, and support teams across the employee lifecycle
