Job Description: Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide senior financial leadership across our expanding portfolio of businesses. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in securitization, structured finance, leverage facilities, financial modelling, corporate finance for acquisitions, and capital strategy. This role supports high-growth initiatives, complex capital structuring, and ongoing optimization of financial performance.
This is a part-time, flexible engagement structured around defined deliverables and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Capital Markets
- Lead the development, evaluation, and execution of securitization programs, including structuring, rating agency interaction, waterfall modelling, and investor reporting frameworks.
- Source, negotiate, and manage leverage and credit facilities, including warehouse lines, term facilities, subscription lines, and bespoke financing arrangements.
- Advise executive leadership on capital allocation, capital efficiency, and capital optimization strategies aligned with business growth plans.
Corporate Finance & M&A
- Support the financial evaluation of acquisition targets, including valuation analysis, due diligence oversight, cash flow forecasting, transaction structuring, and integration planning.
- Develop and maintain corporate models to support buy-side evaluations, capital deployment decisions, and scenario-based forecasting.
- Work closely with legal, tax, and external advisors to coordinate transaction execution and optimize deal structures.
Financial Modelling & Forecasting
- Build and maintain robust multi-entity financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and leveraged scenarios.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and detailed liquidity/solvency projections.
- Provide executive-level insights on financial performance, emerging risks, and operational improvement opportunities.
Financial Governance & Reporting
- Oversee and enhance financial controls, reporting processes, and audit readiness across business lines.
- Review monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timely close, and clarity in internal and external reporting.
- Support treasury management, cash forecasting, and liquidity optimization strategies.
Executive Advisory & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with CEO, CAO, and senior leadership to guide strategic planning, long-term capital strategy, and profitability enhancement.
- Prepare board-level materials, investor communications, and financial presentations.
- Liaise with lenders, institutional investors, rating agencies, auditors, and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
- 15+ years progressive experience in finance, ideally at the CFO, VP Finance, or senior corporate finance level.
- Demonstrated mastery in securitization, structured finance, and leverage facility negotiation.
- Strong experience with M&A, corporate development, and integration support.
- Advanced expertise in financial modelling (Excel, Python, or financial modelling tools).
- Professional designation preferred (CPA, CA, CFA) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in financial services, specialty lending, asset-based lending, or private credit is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time, fractional capacity; strong prioritization and self-management.
Engagement Details
- Part-time (Fractional): Flexible schedule typically 10--15 hours per week, depending on project load.
- Hybrid or remote, with in-person availability for key meetings when necessary.
- Contract length: 6–12 months with option to extend.
- Compensation: commensurate with experience and engagement structure; expected is $250-$325/hr or approximately $15,000/month
